We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Associate to join our Research & Monitoring team at Walee. This role will focus on tracking global and regional trends, analyzing data, and providing actionable insights to support content, research, and strategy teams across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for emerging topics, and the ability to transform complex information into clear, structured reports.

Reporting Line: Manager Client Partnerships Location: Islamabad

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, track, and monitor news, current affairs, trends, and emerging topics across global and regional platforms.
  • Identify relevant keywords, narratives, and themes related to ongoing events.
  • Stay updated on political, social, economic, and cultural developments worldwide.
  • Perform data mapping, structuring, and cleansing from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to extract actionable insights.
  • Maintain and update datasets on a daily basis.
  • Proactively suggest and shortlist topics based on current affairs and trending discussions.
  • Identify early signals of emerging stories or narratives to support content, research, or strategy teams.
  • Prepare daily and weekly research summaries, dashboards, or reports.
  • Present findings in a clear, concise, and structured format.
  • Maintain proper documentation of sources, methodologies, and updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • 1.5–2 years of relevant experience in research, monitoring, data analysis, or related functions.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with global and regional news platforms and current affairs.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
